CACEN'S PAST PROGRAMS

Colorado Asian Culture and Education Network (CACEN) has been serving Colorado's Asian community since 2009. Here are some past programs that we currently have on hold or are no longer offering:

The American Cultural Study Tour and Homestay Program in Colorado is designed for students from Asia to be fully immersed in American culture, living with host families, and learning about American daily life. Students participate in English Language Conversation classes and explore the city with excursions and cultural tours. The program was cancelled due to the pandemic.

In 2021, CACEN helped educate the Asian community about Colorado's redistricting process by providing workshops, creating maps, and developing resources to encourage community members to participate in giving public comment to help inform the state's drawing of new maps.

In 2020, CACEN created and promoted an Asian restaurant and business directory (during the safer at home order) that identified restaurants offering take-out and delivery services. Additionally, Asian business owners are disproportionately affected by the economic repercussions of COVID-19 due to language and cultural barriers.

Asian Eats is a program organized by CACEN, in which community members support locally-owned restaurants over a lunch or dinner meal, while discussing current events impacting the Asian community.
