Asian Eats

Asian Eats is an activity through the We Belong initiative organized by the Colorado Asian Culture and Education Network to bring the AANHPI (Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander) community together to learn and share knowledge on various topics affeting the community. Hosted once per month, participants dine together at an Asian-owned eateries while networking and learning from other members of the community as well as experts in the field.

Asian Eats is a program organized by CACEN, in which community members support locally-owned restaurants over a lunch or dinner meal, while discussing current events impacting the Asian community.

Past events includes:

  • Jaya Asian Grill - Topic: How the Census 2020 works

  • No Ke Aloha at Comrade Brewing - Topic: Recycling and Sustainability

  • Mr. Hao Grill - Topic: Importance of completing the Census 2020

Throughout 2020, the program shifted to Asian Eats To Go, where participants could support three to four establishments during a lunch hour. The "to-go" box included an entree and dessert, as well as a tea from a local shop. Examples of the combinations included:

  • Kokoro, Milk Roll Creamery, Tea Street

  • Tuk Tuk Thai, The Enchanted Oven, ShareTea

  • Chilgogi, Volcano Asian Cuisine, Happy Lemon

  • Seoul KBBQ, Yum Yum Bakery

  • Katsu Ramen, Tofu House, Milk Roll Creamery, Trap Tea

  • China Cafe II, Topic: Vaccine Confidence
